Cameron Davis, Seed of Hope

Oil on canvas, 16 x 20 in., 2020

Seed of Hope illustrates not only how I feel during the pandemic but also expresses how I feel about Louisville. In these hard times, social distancing and constant negative news can be quite depressing to the human spirit. I created this piece to visualize and symbolize hope for a better future for individuals and the communities in Louisville. This piece includes abstract designs radiating from a central object, a seed, which sits above the skyline of downtown Louisville. This seed represents hope for a brighter future and the potential to become the best versions of ourselves by using the time we have now as a time for personal growth. The great inspiration behind this piece is the talented and unique creative community that Louisville has.
