I've always had a soft spot for our state song. I can remember singing it as a child in music class. While there are plenty of recordings of this song, one that is so familiar to us Kentuckians, they are almost always folk arrangements. I thought it might be nice to hear a new arrangement of the song that upends it from its folk roots and frees it from its original context to make for a new listening experience. If anything, it is an attempt to find beauty in the strange times we live in.
