Noisebody, Still Life

Composition for piano, 2 minutes, 31 seconds, 2020

This piece was created to reflect my diverse musical background and current interests and to inspire others, especially people of color, to create something of their own. The song is simple and soft with big, sweeping movements like the wind. Upon a close listen, you hear the many moving parts that work to create the whole. With subtle changes in harmony and almost no melody, it relies on rhythm to keep it moving. And in the most trying of times, such as the one we are in right now, it is usually rhythm that keeps us on our feet.
