Teri Dryden, Make It Do

Paper, cardboard and various packaging from food items, paint, 18 x 24 in., 2020

This collage, made only with the packaging from the food I have on hand, is a humble reminder that we all want more than we really need. The piece is a metaphor for our gratitude for the advantages we enjoy, which make our meager sacrifices pale in comparison to those who truly don’t have enough. My hope is that it will create a feeling of contentment for what we have, and make us forget what we must do without.
