Morgan McGill, Arthritis in a Crisis

Pen and paint on paper, 17 x 22 in., 2020

Detail

Our community's elderly have been in isolation for so long and many of them have had to mourn the loss of loved ones on their own. Many, like my own grandmother, have stepped up to make reusable masks during this time, showing how, ironically, the most vulnerable in our society have become its saviors. Those enduring the most anxiety and fear for their own bodies are saving the bodies of those who are young and healthy. They deserve our gratitude in any way we can show it.
