Adam Barmore, Bellwort

Acrylic on canvas, 12 x 12 in., 2020

I captured this native wildflower with minimal lines to draw attention to its flowing form and lyricism. The lighter arcs mimic the shape of the plant and represent the purity of hope and resilience. In this way, the essence of the plant, in an almost mystic revelation, is made visible. When I happened upon the Bellwort one day, I felt unexpected joy amidst these uncertain times.
