Over the past few months, our nation and world have drastically shifted to an online presence, and for many of us, digital communication now consumes our time and attention –– arguably in an addictive, compulsive manner.

This original poem and hand-designed letter forms expose the excessive use of synthetic interaction via the digital screen and helps the viewer to reflect on their own technology use during the pandemic. The words unpack social media statements as a human eye looms in the background. This eye is a symbol of time and "scanning and scrolling" as our eyes have been bombarded with information and cannot take one more glance.

Deconstructing the names of the ordinary, everyday technological applications that dominate our lives, this digital illustration exposes the truth about the objects we gaze at, the amount of time we give them, and what we truly love.
