Sarah Clevenger, The Great Pause Art Project | Touchstone

Mixed-media (alcohol inks, acrylic paint, gold leaf flakes) on Yupo paper, 20 x 26 in., cut into 20 paintings, 4 x 6 in., each, 2020

Detail

I wanted to celebrate the connections we have with each other, even in this time of self-quarantine. I created an abstract mixed-media painting on Yupo paper with alcohol inks, gold acrylic paint, and gold leaf flakes and then cut the painting into twenty 4 x 6 inch pieces. The twenty pieces were sent via USPS to twenty people around the country, highlighting how we are all linked through art. The large painting is viewed as a touchstone for connection, joy, and creativity.
