The Fleur-De-Lis has long been a symbol of our city and I wanted our budding digital artists to learn how to create every curve and flourish of this iconic symbol. In my tutorial video, I teach beginners about several important tools in Illustrator including the pen tool, Pathfinder, transforming shapes, and creating free-form gradients. As I run my own greeting card start-up, my intention is for the art to be rendered digitally then printed onto a card, but the sky's the limit for what students may want to do with their digital creations.
