As a writer and a creator, I feel that it is my duty to tell the stories of my community, where I grew up, where I come from, and how I got to where I am today. I choose to tell the stories of the people who do not usually get their stories told. I choose to give voice to the voiceless in a way that is not only entertaining but that is also impactful and emotional. Art can save lives. Art can educate. Art can be the water that helps grow.
